The right tools for the job.

There are many portals into FlyBase data and tools to analyze those data. Here, we announce one new portal and one new tool, and also point out some of the features of the other powerful tools that are available on FlyBase.

The new portal is a chromosome map browser, and acts as an entry point to the genomes of the 12 sequenced Drosophila species. The aligned sequence scaffolds, shown in blue on the maps, provide access to the sequence data and gene models. The new tool, Coordinate converter, allows you to equate sequence coordinates in different assembly releases of D. melanogaster so that old data can be brought up to current standards. ...(More)
